Harvest Operations Boss (HOB)

Job Summary
Coordinate daily harvest equipment readiness, assign work activities to seasonal operators, and monitor field operations for safe, efficient completion. Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and rebuild harvesters and dumpcarts during the offseason. Lead seasonal harvest employees through training, mentorship, and scheduling coordination while maintaining equipment service records and managing parts inventory. Ensure compliance with safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and quality standards. Requires agricultural equipment maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and rotating shifts during harvest season.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Agricultural equipment maintenance or heavy equipment mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repair
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lead and coordinate seasonal employees while maintaining a safe work environment
- Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation, purchasing, and reporting
- Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts during harvest season
- Previous leadership or lead worker experience
- Experience with agricultural harvesting equipment
- Experience with maintenance management systems or CropTrak
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and inventory control
Desired Qualifications
- CDL preferred
- Welding, torching, and fabrication skills a plus
