Job Summary
Harvest Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of a single-shift beef harvest process, including budgets, animal welfare, HACCP, SSOP, GMP, QSA, BRC, production yields (carcass & offal), staffing, and employee safety. The role leads a team consisting of three Supervisors and a staff of approximately 140 employees, reports to the Director of Operations, and participates in weekly production meetings. Maintains active rapport with USDA inspectors while addressing regulatory issues and drives KPI enhancement, goal setting, and delegation. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day harvest floor operations, ensuring policy compliance and safe, efficient work environment, understanding and enforcing the union contract, coordinating with Maintenance and Engineering on equipment, monitoring yields, overseeing training, payroll, discipline, implementing the department budget, and identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring implementation of HACCP, SSOP, GMP, BRC, Animal Welfare and QSA programs.
