HARVEST MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day operations of the Slaughter Maintenance Department, ensuring adherence to safety policies, procedures, and food safety standards including HACCP and government programs. Monitor and correct safety infractions, complete daily safety documentation, and enforce good housekeeping and safe work practices. Direct assigned employees by assigning mechanics to specific jobs, preventive maintenance, and planned work orders while recording job progress and daily time distributions. Provide immediate response to emergency needs, instruct mechanics on job methods and tools, and coordinate shift changes with peers to optimize manpower and materials. Advise engineering on equipment failures, seek energy conservation methods, and ensure personnel conduct aligns with company policies and work rules.

- ability to coordinate efforts with other shift supervisors
- ability to train mechanics to maintain and improve skill level
- ability to indoctrinate new personnel
- ability to advise Superintendent of training needs
- ability to advise superiors and engineering department of equipment failure or items requiring excessive maintenance
- ability to ensure modifications or changes are made without a valid work order
- ability to seek ways to promote conservation of energy
- ability to provide technical assistance to production department on how to best and economically operate equipment
- ability to ensure adherence to food safety, HAACP, and Government programs
- ability to adhere to company policy and work rules
- ability to ensure overtime approval with peers prior to shift schedule
- ability to adhere to daily work schedules without wasting manpower or materials
