Job Summary
Operates wire extrusion machines and related equipment to produce wire meeting specified tolerances and finishes. Duties include monitoring equipment, adjusting machine settings to regulate temperature, speed, and thickness of PVC/Nylon on wire, splicing and welding ends, wiring the spools, performing quality checks on cosmetic and color print, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures. Performs setup of extrusion/armoring/coiling machines, selects tooling, conducts preventative maintenance, and uses precision instruments for quality testing. Maintains cleanliness and observes safety rules; may assist with Lean events and other duties as assigned. Role supports growth within Marmon/Hartselle facilities, with opportunities to advance through the organization.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Machine Operator experience
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions
- Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Strong Math skills (addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, fractions)
- Basic Computer Skills
- Basic troubleshooting skill is a plus
- Material handling experience is a plus
- Must have visual ability to detect colors
