Job Summary
Interim Teacher role for elementary education within Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Responsibilities include preparing and meeting students for instruction, designing coherent instruction aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning, planning instruction to meet objectives, employing diverse assessment strategies, providing evaluative feedback and progress reports, leveraging materials and technology to develop critical thinking, and maintaining classroom procedures for maximum academic learning time. RequiresLICensure/endorsement coursework in progress and active participation in professional development; position offers a 10-month (200 day) contract with benefits and potential retirement system enrollment. Mentorship from an experienced SCPS teacher supports growth and licensure maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR 60 course credits and currently enrolled in a teaching program
- One (1) year of experience working with children, ideally within a teaching, leadership or mentorship role
- Actively enrolled in the coursework required to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
