Job Summary
Harrison Hill Title I Literacy Support Assistant, Part-time, provides research-based literacy interventions to small groups for at least half the school day; collaborates with principal, instructional coach, and interventionist on literacy strategies; maintains records related to Title I literacy, compliance, family engagement, and Pre-K; assists in planning family engagement activities and Pre-K coverage; CPR certification, fingerprint background check, TB testing, and other learning modules required for Pre-K coverage; duties include supporting Pre-K staff during lunch breaks or staff absences; requires strong office, computer, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of general clerical or school experience
- College degree preferred
- Drug screen required
- Must be highly-qualified. The paraprofessional can be determined for highly-qualified if he or she can demonstrate at least one of the following: Two years of college experience from an accredited college; A two-year college degree from an accredited college; Passed the Para-Pro Assessment; One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment in a school or working with children; Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes from an accredited college; Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials
