Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of fixed-site harm reduction services, including syringe programs, evening and Saturday shifts, and outreach activities. Implement and monitor program policies while providing participant-centered support, engaging individuals in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner. Respond to situations as needed using trauma-informed approaches to maintain safety, and conduct community education on safer substance use and overdose prevention. Develop partnerships with community organizations through referral networks and linkage agreements, while maintaining accurate documentation, participant records, and inventory of supplies. Represent BOOM!Health at community meetings and events. Full-time role with evening and weekend availability; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated training in harm reduction principles and practices
- At least two years of experience in harm reduction, public health, or human services settings
- Experience working directly with people who use drugs or other marginalized communities in a participant-centered service environment
- Working knowledge of harm reduction theory and practice
- Experience providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental services with a strong emphasis on participant-centered care
- Skilled in de-escalation and conflict resolution in high-need, community-based service environments
- Ability to foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for participants, including PWUD, PLWHA, LGBTQIA+ individuals, MSM, people experiencing homelessness, and sex workers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support coordination of fixed-site program operations in collaboration with program leadership
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards
- Experience with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, tracking, and safe storage of harm reduction supplies
- Familiarity with data systems such as AIRS and eShare, as well as Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to support training and onboarding of staff and peers in harm reduction practices, as directed
- Availability to support fixed-site harm reduction services, including evening and weekend hours
- Tuesday–Friday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
