Job Summary
Develop and execute test campaigns to verify system requirements for the Dot autonomous delivery robot, validating electrical, mechanical, thermal, safety, and sensing performance across diverse environments. Collaborate with hardware requirement owners and cross-functional teams in DevOps, Software, Firmware, Controls, AI, and Ops to plan, track, and resolve issues while improving robot reliability through rigorous testing and troubleshooting. Construct and maintain test tooling, fixtures, and documentation, then lead test reviews and report progress on the test program. Occasional travel required to test sites in California, Arizona, and Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in engineering, e.g. robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer science
- 5+ years of industry experience working in automotive or mechatronics engineering testing & validation at the system level
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus & Ethernet data logging and analysis tools
- Experience with environmental testing such as thermal, shock, and IP testing
- A track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs
- A working understanding of vehicle mechanicals and electronics
- Familiarity with autonomous vehicle perception systems
- This role requires occasional travel to test sites in California, Arizona, and Michigan
