Job Summary
Define inspection processes from receiving through final checks to ensure repeatable quality. Develop the inspection report format, traceability framework, and nonconformance workflow that the quality system runs on. Work directly with the inspection team to establish standards for program documentation and handoffs. Identify gaps in current capability, specify necessary equipment, and build the business case for procurement. Establish verification protocols for parts undergoing outside processing like heat treat and coating. Architect processes to support AS9100 compliance from day one. Build the inspection infrastructure behind a supersonic aircraft and next-generation turbine while hardware actively moves through the shop.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a quality engineer in an aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environment
- A track record of building quality processes, not just running them
- Strong GD&T fundamentals and the ability to develop inspection plans from drawings independently
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management frameworks
- Experience speccing and procuring inspection equipment
- The ability to work directly with machinists, programmers, and engineers — and hold your ground when the data says something nobody wants to hear
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
