Job Summary
Hardware Lab Technician ONSITE (5 days a week) in Sunnyvale, CA, responsible for maintaining lab operations, repairing and upgrading lab infrastructure, assembling, testing and verifying hardware prototypes, performing failure analysis, and supporting engineering teams to enable prototype development and testing while ensuring TL9000 quality standards. The role includes asset tracking, lab process improvement, and collaboration with remote teams; requires extensive hands-on hardware experience, lab management, and strong electronics skills, with an associate-level degree in Electronics or equivalent experience and 5+ years in engineering-lab environments. There is emphasis on building and testing hardware, managing lab infrastructure, and supporting manufacturing test engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing an engineering lab and lab network
- Recent experience (within the past 5 years) in lab design and power planning
- At least 3 years of experience with lab equipment calibration, including budgeting and purchase orders
- At least 3 years of experience in asset tracking, budget planning, and lab process development
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with complex electronic assemblies
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
- Strong soldering and rework skills, including fine-pitch SMT components
- Proficiency with power and hand tools (e.g., drills, wire crimping tools, connectors, and lugs)
- Strong foundation in digital and analog electronics
- Proven ability to perform failure analysis and troubleshoot to the component level
