Job Summary
Machine wood and hollow metal doors for commercial hardware, including hinges, locks, latches, and vision kits. Read shop drawings, templates, and hardware schedules to ensure precise installation. Operate woodworking and metalworking tools and machines safely, performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with team members while working independently as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment by following OSHA requirements, using proper lifting techniques, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Lift and carry building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds. Work full-time under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager.
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years minimum experience in commercial door and hardware installation
- Solid knowledge of commercial doors (wood and hollow metal) and their associated hardware
- Proficient in using woodworking and metalworking tools and machines
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as hardware schedules and templates
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of ANSI/BHMA standards
- Experience with fire-rated door labeling or door/frame fabrication
- Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
