Job Summary

Hardware Field Test Engineer responsible for designing and executing IoT hardware field tests, configuring test devices, collecting, organizing, and analyzing test data, and presenting comprehensive reports to hardware teams. The role involves gaining proficiency with BRIX data ingestion dashboards, performing troubleshooting to identify failure modes, maintaining inventory of production devices and test equipment, coordinating shipments, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors to plan resources for test/validation activities. The position emphasizes data analysis to drive IoT hardware decisions, delivering charts, graphs, and documentation (e.g., Jira/Confluence) for stakeholders and leadership, and providing insights during hardware design stages to improve solutions. The role supports the team’s ability to analyze hardware performance during field testing or deployment, requiring strong data analytics capabilities and effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences. The role is Hybrid Remote with available positions in Orlando, FL and Santa Clara, CA.

Required Qualifications

  • Test/validation plan development, execution, analysis, and report out experience OR willingness to gain this experience and perform assigned testing/validation activities.
  • Self-starter with an inquisitive mindset and an interest in understanding IoT device operation basics to aid in better data insight analysis and test/validation plan activities.
  • Strong SQL experience to conduct queries and extract data needed for testing/validation analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills to perform data analysis.
  • Able to analyze various sizes of data sets to discover trends, patterns, and insights to provide validation or actionable activities on IoT hardware performance.
  • Create comprehensive data visualization documents/displays that accurately provide metrics or insights to make data-driven decisions.
  • 3+ years of Data Analytics experience in turning data into insights and recommendations for action.
  • 2+ years of experience in communicating insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 1+ year of data analysis on IoT hardware, equipment, or other product where operational performance data had to be collected, analyzed, and visualized.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong SQL experience to conduct queries and extract data needed for testing/validation analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills to perform data analysis
  • Experience creating data visualization reports/displays
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, R
  • 3+ years of Data Analytics experience turning data into insights
  • 1+ year of data analysis on IoT hardware, equipment, or similar
  • Experience communicating insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in test/validation plan development, execution, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with an inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn IoT device operation basics
