Job Summary
Conduct requirements analysis and contribute to the specification and design of hardware systems for London's transport network ticketing infrastructure. Maintain technical documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and design records while developing, reviewing, and managing Bills of Materials to ensure component compliance. Define wiring designs, support hardware architecture, and create technical drawings and 3D models using CAD tools. Ensure adherence to CE marking requirements and environmental standards while providing engineering support during manufacturing, integration, testing, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in requirements analysis and hardware system design
- Experience preparing and maintaining technical documentation
- Knowledge of BOM definition, evaluation and management
- Experience in wiring design and hardware architecture development
- Understanding of CE marking requirements and environmental compliance standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Excel and Word
- Experience using CAD tools for technical drawings and 3D design
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within transport, defence, aerospace or other regulated industries
- Knowledge of configuration management and engineering change processes
- Experience supporting manufacturing, testing or system integration activities
- Familiarity with electrical and electronic system development
