Job Summary
Design, install, and test RF/SATCOM hardware across C, X, Ku, Ka, and Q/V bands while accounting for atmospheric attenuation and polarization mismatch. Conduct site surveys, climb antennas, and operate earth-terminal consoles to establish wide-band satellite links. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and apply anti-jamming techniques using Keysight PNA-X, FieldFox, and BER testers. Produce AutoCAD drawings, schematics, and technical documentation; coordinate with cross-functional teams for system deployment. Lead inspection teams and train site personnel in austere environments. Requires TS/SCI/Full Scope Polygraph clearance and 15% worldwide travel.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI/Full Scope Polygraph Clearance
- Travel up to 15% worldwide
- Ability to carry equipment, climb antennas, and rack hardware
- Knowledgeable of RF design, installation, and test, with a focus on SATCOM systems
- Hands-on proficiency with Keysight PNA-X, FieldFox, Spec-A, RF signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and BER testers
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proven problem-solving record: troubleshooting complex RF hardware, analyzing data printouts, implementing corrective actions that improve performance and maintainability
- Leadership/mentoring ability: lead inspection teams, supervise maintenance activities, and train site personnel
- Experience developing preventive-maintenance schedules, conducting equipment inspections, and authoring safety-rule documentation
