Job Summary
Lead the delivery of hardware activities across the portfolio team, managing bids and projects through xEMs while maintaining close collaboration with EDMs, xArc, and HoEDs to capture business demand and scale resources effectively. Track and report engineering delivery performance using KPIs, providing guidance and intervention to achieve bid and project targets. Optimize resource allocation within the S&OP process and build stakeholder relationships with engineering leaders to support competitive delivery. Provide accurate schedule, resource, and cost data to project managers and drive collaboration through requirements, solution design, and system verification. Work with functional team leads to implement new ways of working, execute continuous improvement initiatives, and coach xEMs on delivery skills and succession planning. Requires UK Government Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications
- UK Government Security Clearance
- Experience as a Workday Manager 2
- Ability to act as an engineering operational focal point
- Ability to manage a team to meet operational needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with project Leads (e.g. EDMs & PMs)
- Ability to escalate to Portfolio HoED when unable to resolve issues locally
- Ability to accurately capture and track demand
- Ability to manage team size to discharge project work
- Ability to work with discipline HoD & Functional team leads to identify key skills needed
- Ability to balance operational needs with the need to support development
- Ability to jointly drive through adoption of key domain skills
- Ability to drive training and KTPs
- Ability to proactively coach xEMs to improve their delivery skills
- Ability to identify potential succession planning
- Travel percentage up to 10%
