Job Summary
Hardware Clerk at South Country Co-op (Vauxhall Agro) assisting customers, handling transactions at the cash register, stocking and pricing products, maintaining clean and organized aisles, receiving deliveries, and promoting membership benefits while delivering world-class customer service in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs, strong communication skills, ability to work in a multi-generational team, and availability Monday–Saturday 8am–5pm. Internal candidates may apply; first consideration for internal applicants based on seniority and fitness to perform the work.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Completed Grade 9
- Retail or hardware/building materials experience is an asset
- Experience in Agro or farming settings is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work well within multi-generational teams
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexible and adaptable to new technology and tools
- High degree of integrity, work ethic, and professionalism
- Friendly, positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in customer and team interactions
- Availability Monday to Saturday 8am-5pm
