Job Summary
Lead and develop a high-performing team of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Systems technicians while providing hands-on technical leadership for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and complex equipment failures. Drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement by overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment uptime across critical building infrastructure. Optimize CMMS performance and partner with Reliability Engineers to reduce downtime, while managing contractors and vendors to meet safety and quality standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local codes, and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs. This strategic role supports the Facility Manager in East Syracuse, NY, within JLL's global commercial real estate network.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive maintenance or facilities engineering experience
- 3+ years leading maintenance or engineering teams
- Proven ability to provide strong leadership, build high-performing teams, and develop effective relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and air compressors
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, data center, semiconductor, or other critical facilities environments
- Mechanical equipment, rotating assets, and associated maintenance best practices
- Electrical distribution systems and motor controls
- CMMS platforms (Maximo) & Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
- Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Capital projects and equipment lifecycle planning
