Job Summary
Hangar Mechanic provides onsite aircraft maintenance support for Life Flight Network, including inventory management, scheduling maintenance, updating manuals, and maintaining regulatory compliance for FAA Part 135 operations. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing aircraft parts and systems, coordinating parts shipping and warranty claims, maintaining maintenance records, and traveling to service areas as needed. Requires A&P certification with FAA knowledge, experience in rotorcraft maintenance (prefer FAR 135), and strong communication and safety practices. Travel and overtime may be required; benefits include a comprehensive package for full-time employees.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of two years of an Aviation Science trade or vocational school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three years as Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic
- Airframe and Powerplant Certification
- Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
- Three years of FAR 135 turbine rotorcraft maintenance experience preferred
- Three years’ experience working for an EMS helicopter program preferred
- Maintenance experience on Bell 407 preferred
- Maintenance experience on Bell 429 desirable
- Maintenance experience on PC12 desirable
- Maintenance experience on EC135 desirable
- Sheet metal/composites experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical abilities sufficient to handle complex technical and administrative issues
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Strong work ethic with team-oriented approach
- Must pass background check and pre-employment DOT drug test
- Ability to travel to LFN bases; overnight stays may be required
