Job Summary
Handyperson Electrician role responsible for assisting in shipyard electrical installations and interpreting drawings/blueprints. Must be familiar with shipboard electrical systems, use of basic hand and power tools, and adherence to PPE/OSHA safety standards. Requires ability to read measurements, dress cableways to standard, and collaborate with mentors/supervisors. Available to work in Chesapeake, VA, includes overtime and travel as project needs dictate. Must maintain firearms-free status, pass drug screening, and obtain security clearances as required by government facilities. Includes growth opportunities in the Electrical trade and a focus on safety, reliability, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in the Electrical trade in a shipyard
- Must pass Drug Screening
- Must obtain Government facility security pass and badges
- Must be able to wear a respirator and comply with fit testing
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Able to work in outdoor weather, heights, confined spaces, loud noise, and exposure to fumes
- Availability to overtime and travel to alternate worksites
