Job Summary
Maintain, service, and conduct minor repairs on buildings and equipment, performing semiskilled duties in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. Inspect premises regularly to identify potential issues, reporting major structural or system failures to management while ensuring all tools are properly maintained and stored safely. Comply with established safety guidelines and procedures, including working at heights and in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round. This part-time role requires approximately 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The position involves physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
Required Qualifications
- proven experience working as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a similar capacity
- solid understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- proficiency in use basic hand and power tools necessary for general repairs
- physical stamina, including the ability to perform physical labor, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
- strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- good verbal communication skills
- punctual, dependable, and capable of managing their time effectively to complete tasks within the designated part-time hours
- reliable transportation to and from the work site
- ability to work both indoor and outdoor environments year round
- ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and step stools while maintaining good balance
- use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to handle small screws and wires and precision hand or power tools
- ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds
