Job Summary
Handyman needed at Constance Le Chaland in Plaine Magnien, Mauritius. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repairs across woodworking (tables, doors, windows), plumbing (taps, fittings, drains), masonry (cracks, tiles, bricks), painting (retouching, varnishing), and cleaning as part of hotel upkeep. Follow safety rules, review log book, coordinate with Maintenance Manager Assistants, verify preparations before guest room arrivals, and repair components per instructions. Requires solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems, ability to use hardware and power tools, strong organization, problem-solving skills, and English language proficiency (second language a plus). Likely entry-level with at least 1 year in the hotel industry; additional certifications in relevant fields are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry
- Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus
- Technical skills: Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems
- Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment
- Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication
