Job Summary
Conduct painting operations, general upkeep, and exterior property maintenance including snow removal, lighting, and garbage collection at the Southbridge Lakehead LTC home. Serve as the first point of contact for facility concerns while ensuring all work meets company standards. Perform mechanical and electrical support tasks under the supervision of the Environmental Service Manager. Participate in assigned company meetings and attend in-service education programs. Maintain a negative vulnerable sector check and complete a 2 Step TB skin test prior to starting. Work a 12pm to 8pm shift in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks independently with strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience
- One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask, time management and can work independently
- Ability to prioritize work and must be able to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices & procedures
- Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date
