Job Summary

Conduct manual polishing, lapping, and finishing of ZnSe optical components to meet surface quality, dimensional, and cosmetic specifications. Perform visual inspections and measurements using metrology equipment to ensure product conformity while maintaining accurate production records and inspection data. Identify and report non-conformities, equipment issues, and process deviations to supervisors, supporting troubleshooting and corrective actions to resolve production and quality concerns. Lead assigned polishing activities to meet daily targets, collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Requires 1–3 years of experience in optical or precision manufacturing, cleanroom familiarity, and ability to read technical drawings. 100% onsite at Coherent Philippines Pte Ltd with potential shift work or overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in optical polishing, precision manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, or related production environments
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and process specifications
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and production reporting
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • This role is 100% onsite in a manufacturing production environment
  • Requires prolonged standing, repetitive hand movements, and handling of delicate optical components
  • May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to cleanroom protocols where applicable
  • May require overtime, shift work, or flexible working hours to support business demands and production schedules

Desired Qualifications

  • A vocational diploma, technical certification, or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, Precision Engineering, or a related field
  • High school graduates with relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience in handling optical materials, precision measurement tools, and quality inspection processes
  • Familiarity with cleanroom practices and manufacturing quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision manual work
  • Basic leadership capabilities to guide team members during daily production activities when assigned
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying process and quality issues
  • Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. to achieve production, quality, and customer satisfaction goals
