Job Summary
The Hand Therapist provides rehabilitation services to patients with upper extremity disabilities, evaluating their abilities and planning treatment programs based on physician orders. Responsibilities include instructing patients and family on equipment use, evaluating home facilities for adaptations, recommending assistive devices, providing treatments, and maintaining records. A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy is required, along with licensure in New York State. Master’s degree or Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred. The role involves 40 hours of work weekly at the University of Rochester.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy required
- Completed relevant clinical education in a comparable setting required or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Licensed in New York State required
