Job Summary
Circulate the school building and campus to ensure a safe learning environment while monitoring all common areas within the building. Inform school administration immediately of any unsafe conditions, incidents, unauthorized personnel, or suspected unsafe student behaviors. Monitor for student truancy, secure school building entrances and exits, and maintain daily logs of interactions requiring administrative communication. Report all safety and security issues to administrators and support student behavior plans as directed. Attend district training sessions and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Oral and written communication skills
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with school staff, students, and the public
- Communicating and enforcing school policies and procedures
- Applying judgment when dealing with angry, hostile or uncooperative individuals
- Compiling information and preparing reports
- Securing school building
- Monitoring school building, grounds, and property
- Monitoring student behavior
- Must be able to stand, sit run, stoop, crawl, kneel, reach, twist, push in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus
