Job Summary
Represent the organization in a positive, enthusiastic, and professional manner during the Hall of Fame Mascot Race and other game day features. Provide entertainment to fans by interacting, taking photos, and making outside appearances as requested throughout the season. Maintain all costumes and game day equipment, keeping them organized and properly stored after each game. Assist with the Ballpark Events Department, Promotions team, and other game day promotions as needed, including acting as a mascot escort when not in costume. This seasonal part-time role requires availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through September, with an hourly rate of $16.50. Candidates must meet specific physical requirements, including running 300 yards at a sprint in a 50-pound costume, and possess reliable transportation for late-night travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Height requirement – 5 Ft 7 In minimum
- Must be able to run a minimum of 300 yards at a sprint while wearing a 50-pound costume with obstructed peripheral vision
- Must be comfortable performing and interacting with fans in front of large crowds and on camera for extended periods of time
- Must be able to maintain the integrity of the character while in costume
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the ballpark within the hours before and after a game, to include late nights past 12:00am
- Must be available to work at least four (4) days per week which must include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in promotions, performing in costume, and guest service preferred
