Job Summary
This Hall Monitor Paraprofessional role at Woodbury Middle School focuses on student supervision before, during, and after the school day, including lunchroom and hallway oversight, enforcing behavioral guidelines, building positive relationships with students and staff, coordinating with kitchen and building staff, supervising entrances and common areas, and supporting staff with attendance and safety duties. The position requires the ability to lift 10 pounds, basic computer skills (email, Internet, Word), willingness to participate in district training, and a commitment to a safe, respectful learning environment for students aged 11-18.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Competencies as required by State of Minnesota, Federal government, and/or District 833
- Proven teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills
- Positive attitude and desire to work with youth in the 11-18 year age group
- Ability to enforce behavior guidelines and consequences consistently
- Ability to supervise large groups of students
- Models appropriate behavior and proper grammar usage
- Acts on district-sponsored training when offered
- Ability to perform routine computer functions (email, Internet navigation, Microsoft Word)
- Ability to pass Paraprofessional fitness for duty tests
- Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance
- Appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions
