Job Summary
Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles for Putnam County Schools in the Hurricane Area, adhering to the West Virginia Board of Education guidelines. Conduct pre-trip inspections approximately 15 minutes prior to pullout time and perform post-trip checks within 15 minutes after service. Manage routes for Bus #2603, with specific pullout windows between 2:15 and 4:45 PM, while noting that location and route length may vary based on student transportation needs. This half-day position spans 200 days and requires a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, three years of driving experience, and completion of 40 hours of classroom training plus 20 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
- Passes the required physical examination
- Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
- Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
- Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
- Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training
- Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
- Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate
