Job Summary
Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles for Putnam County Schools. Requires Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements, 3 years of driving experience, medical and background checks, 40 hours of classroom training and 20 hours behind the wheel, First Aid/CPR, and WV School Bus Operator’s Certificate. Responsibilities include pre-trip, pullout, and post-trip duties (PM route 2:15–4:45), with location requirements in Hurricane Area and Winfield, WV. Salary based on experience and education per the Putnam County salary schedule plus benefits; 200 days length of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
- Passes the required physical examination
- Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
- Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
- Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
- Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training
- Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
- Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate
