Job Summary
Assist in providing care, supervision, and learning activities to preschool-age children in a classroom environment while planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet their needs and interests. Maintain a shift schedule between 7:45am and 3:30pm during the school year, with exact times varying based on school requirements. This role supports the implementation of child guidance principles and basic instructional methods within a NAEYC-accredited setting. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and strong communication skills, with a preference for candidates holding a CDA credential or relevant college coursework.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong office, computer, and oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices
- Basic instructional methods and techniques
- Drug screen
- Proof of education at the time of interview
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of college experience from an accredited college
- A two-year college degree from an accredited college
- Passed the Para-Pro Assessment
- One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment in a school or working with children
- Passed annual school-level evaluations
- Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes from an accredited college
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials
- A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition
- A CDA Credential equivalent as defined by NAEYC as at least 12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education
- An associate's degree (AA) in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education
