Job Summary
Provide assistance to special education students requiring significant and regular personal care, behavior interventions, functional life skills acquisition, and functional academics. Assist in implementing a student’s IEP. Works with students who have more severe physical, emotional, and/or learning disabilities. Work performed in a classroom environment with potential exposure to body fluids and risk of personal injury from student behaviors. Billing Medicaid and attending yearly training provided by Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25. Must exhibit ability to work with students one-on-one and in small groups, apply effective behavioral methods, maintain a positive learning environment, stay organized, communicate effectively, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 32 college credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree or pass Praxis; transcripts must be uploaded. Placement at Level 5 of the salary schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a minimum of 32 college semester credits that will lead to a Bachelor’s Degree OR
- Pass the ETS Paraprofessional Praxis Assessment Test
- Copy of transcripts uploaded with the application
