Job Summary
Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe and establish a therapeutic rapport with adolescents in the inpatient psychiatric hospital. Be involved in the development of PBIS Lesson Plans and training, while facilitating group conferences to discuss active treatment plans. Confer with individuals to discuss their options and goals so that supports can be developed within a clinical treatment plan. This role supports adolescents with behavioral and emotional diagnoses at Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Center in Malvern, PA. The Habilitation Counselor position offers specialized training in ABA, DBT, and IEP, allowing you to teach youth valuable life skills and serve as a positive role model.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related degree
- Valid driver's license
- Proficient communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (Proficient in Outlook, SharePoint, EHR, Microsoft office)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace with drug screening required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders
- Previous experience working with complex post-traumatic stress disorder
- Previous experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders
- Previous experience working with autism spectrum disorders
- Specialized training in PBIS, ABA, TIC, Safe and Positive Approaches, DBT and IEP
