Job Summary
Process turkey products and parts through manual and machine-assisted tasks including cutting, packaging, and carcass handling while adhering to strict safety, quality, and sanitation standards. Monitor equipment operation, promptly notify personnel of malfunctions, and rotate through various functions within the processing department as needed. Ensure product safety by following GMP and HACCP procedures, supporting food safety initiatives, and maintaining a safe work environment. Perform repetitive tasks while standing for prolonged periods in a high-noise manufacturing environment, wearing personal protective equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or related preferred
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment
- Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements as needed
- Ability to use utensils/tools
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to meet time standards for each line (ex. 4 pieces of product per min)
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed
- Must be willing and able to work in varying elements that could include damp, cold, wet, hot or warm environment
- Must be willing and able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be willing and able to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment
- Must be willing and able to work in a food processing plant with a high noise level
- Must be willing and able to work around processing plant equipment
- Must be willing and able to work in storage coolers/facilities
- Must be willing and able to wear hearing protection if noise level exceeds 85 DBA
- Must be willing and able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing and able to have specific vision abilities that may include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
