H-1 Aircraft Mechanic (Flight Line CDI)

Job Summary
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft systems and subsystems while serving as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for flight line MOS 6114/6174. Perform quality technical inspections of aircraft, components, and support equipment, including avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems, during maintenance, repair, modification, and overhaul processes. Operate aircraft towing equipment and provide technical guidance to mechanics to ensure acceptable quality workmanship. Assist in preparing and responding to Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs) and complete aircraft forms using OOMA. Requires minimum five years rotary-wing aviation experience, prior CDI experience on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft, and a Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years rotary-wing aviation experience
- Prior experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft
- Must be able to meet any Government and company licensing or qualification requirements for the position
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background check and obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment
- Must demonstrate operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts
- Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance
- Must be able to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA after assignment
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds
- Able to pass a fit-for-work physical and/or drug test as required
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working overhead
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flight line, as required
- Must be able to man and perform flight line extinguisher duties, as required
- If required, must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate powered industrial trucks
- If required, must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 to 4 hours
- If required, must be able to perform confined-space activities
- Travel may be required
