Job Summary
The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for coaching gymnastics aligned with YMCA policies, promoting teamwork among members and parents, and handling preschool, youth, and pre-team classes. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing programs, ensuring compliance with USA Gymnastics policies, adapting teaching strategies for individual needs, enforcing safety guidelines, and supervising volunteer staff. Candidates should possess relevant coaching experience, strong communication skills, and a dedication to youth development through gymnastics. This part-time position offers 3 to 15 hours of work per week, typically after 4 PM and Saturday mornings, with compensation ranging from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be 15 years or older.
- Completion of First Aid and CPR training within 60 days of hire.
Desired Qualifications
- Related instruction, coaching or past competitive experience in gymnastics, tumbling, cheering and/or dance.
- Practical knowledge of progressive skill building as related directly to instructional gymnastics and working knowledge of USA gymnastics.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Passion for supporting positive youth development through gymnastics.
