Job Summary
Instruct gymnastics lessons in accordance with PDHP curriculum, teaching skills essential for athlete development and progress while understanding skill levels to ensure safe, progressive instruction. Maintain accurate attendance and progress reports, and respond appropriately to participant and facility emergencies by completing accident/incident logs. Attend all informational staff meetings and follow all Park District policies. Possess knowledge of gymnastics skills, progressions, and proper apparatus execution. Schedule includes weekday morning/early afternoon, after school, and Saturdays. Requires American Red Cross CPR/AED certification as needed.
Required Qualifications
- American Red Cross CPR/AED (as needed)
- Less than high school education
- up to one-month related experience or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess knowledge of gymnastics skills and progressions and proper apparatus execution
- Attend all informational staff meetings
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress reports as required
- Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to participant and facility emergencies, including completion of accident/incident or minor injury log
- Follow all Park District policies and procedures
- Performs other Park District-related duties as assigned
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit; bend; twist; squat; use hands to finger, handle, grasp manipulate or feel; reach push or pull with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, see and hear
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to respond quickly and accurately
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
