Job Summary
Conduct energizing, safe, and educational gymnastics classes for children, teens, and adults while providing appropriate supervision. Develop class lesson plans that modify skills to meet participants' ages and abilities, then communicate progress with parents and maintain accurate attendance records. Ensure daily equipment checks and cleaning tasks are completed, and obtain required certifications within 30 days of hire. Build authentic relationships with participants and parents to foster community and retention, while promoting YMCA programs and supporting campaign initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 required.
- 12 months experience in participating in gymnastics training
- CPR/AED & First Aid certification
- New Leader Orientation certification
- Weekday morning availability
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally stoop/bend
- Ability to respond to game situations
- Physical ability to act swiftly in the event of an emergency
- Must have a high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform job responsibilities
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
- Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Must demonstrate initiative and sound judgment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching gymnastics lessons
- Must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and the sport in general
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
