Job Summary
Lead energizing, fun, and safe gymnastics classes for children, teens, and adults while providing appropriate supervision and modifying lesson plans to meet participants' ages and abilities. Build authentic relationships with students and parents, communicate progress, and maintain accurate attendance records to support membership retention. Ensure daily equipment checks, complete mandatory certifications, and participate in special events and YMCA campaign initiatives. Work evenings and weekends with a focus on fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment that promotes healthy living and community connection.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 required.
- Must have 12 months experience in participating in gymnastics training.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and the sport in general.
- Must have a high level of alertness, concentration, and initiative.
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must demonstrate initiative and sound judgment.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching gymnastics lessons preferred.
