Job Summary

Under close supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinator, the Gymnastics Assistant supports gymnastics operations and provides general leadership in the gymnastics program. Primary responsibilities include programming and supervision of gymnastics birthday parties, assistance with administrative tasks and parent-tot programming, and participation in special projects such as gymnastics home meets. In the absence of the Gymnastics Coordinator, the Assistant serves as acting Gym Supervisor with a focus on safety while providing general supervision of staff and participants. The role requires flexibility to cover morning parent-tot programming and Sunday birthday parties, with typical hours 9 AM-4 PM or 5 PM on weekdays and two Sundays per month; full-time with a 40-hour work week, with possible additional day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. It emphasizes staff scheduling, program planning, marketing, staff training, participant communication, class/program development, and maintaining high safety standards within a district recreation setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age with a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Six (6) months of experience with children, childcare, education, or related field
  • Two (2) years of gymnastics coaching experience leading recreational, pre-team, and/or competitive level classes. Two (2) years of experience preferred
  • Experience with physical education, recreation programming, other sports or fitness programming will be considered
  • HEADS UP Concussion or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification within thirty (30) days of hire (in-person hands-on)
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of gymnastics skills progressions and spotting techniques
  • Ability to lead safe, fun and effective movement classes for children
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
