Job Summary
Conduct opening duties including unlocking gates, setting up check-in, and ensuring the facility is debris-free and safe. Monitor participants for appropriate behavior, address behavioral issues, and enforce visitor security policies while representing the YMCA professionally. Perform regular facility walks to observe staff, check cleanliness, and execute necessary clean-ups. Respond immediately to all incidents, administer aid, and report accidents per policy. Manage closing procedures by verifying all members have left, clearing the area, and securing all doors and gates. Maintain 100% availability during the shift with a two-way radio and cell phone, remaining in the gymnasium until closing.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Thorough understanding of YMCA of Southwest Florida's Incident reporting policy and procedures
- Ability to use sound judgement and respond accordingly in the event of an emergency
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends when needed
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of YMCA of Southwest Florida's annual safety trainings
