Job Summary
Police Officer for Georgia World Congress Center Authority responsible for patrolling campus and venues to enforce state/local laws and park ordinances; duties include responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, issuing incident reports, patrols by foot/bike/vehicle, traffic direction and crowd control, participation in special events, and adherence to training programs; requires maintaining Ga POST Certification, undergoing background checks, psychological evaluation, and a polygraph, and possessing a valid Georgia driver’s license. The role emphasizes integrity, professionalism, risk management, safety, and the ability to work variable hours in low and high-activity environments.
Required Qualifications
- GEORGIA P.O.S.T. Certification in good standing
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation
- Must successfully complete a polygraph examination
- Maintain Ga POST Police (PBLE) Certification in Good Standing
- Knowledge of applicable local and state laws, and ordinances
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull extremely heavy objects over 200 pounds
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, other staff, and the public
- Extensive knowledge of standard police practices and techniques
- High degree of integrity and compliance
- Self-awareness
- Ability to demonstrate leadership to the assigned unit
- Detail oriented
- Assess, analyze, and manage risk factors
- Ability to work an irregular work schedule
- Essential driving license requirement
