Job Summary
Produce bespoke shotguns and rifles to meet specific client orders on time and within budget. Assist in developing product technology, tooling, and processes while continuously improving quality, reliability, and productivity. Perform all craftsmanship and machining processes for existing and future products, supporting CAD/CAM development and workshop activities. Explain craft processes to visitors and customers, maintain a safe working environment, and ensure factory equipment is cost-effectively maintained. Fully participate in achieving production schedules and reducing rework levels while upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and brand culture.
Required Qualifications
- Time served Gun making Apprentice
- Ideally certificated by The London Proof House
- Sound Craft knowledge in their specialist area
- Good breadth and depth of knowledge across all gun making
- Organised and positive with a desire and commitment to improving and developing the Purdey range of products
- Good communication, teamwork and motivation skills
- A good work ethic, able to reliably achieve the required output whilst maintaining high quality standards
- Able to interact effectively with all levels within the company and with customers
- A capable problem solver who demonstrates resourcefulness
Desired Qualifications
- New craft apprentices with a solid BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or appropriate subject
