Job Summary
Greet customers upon entering and exiting the store, engaging in conversation to enhance the personalized experience while meeting digital receipt program goals. Accurately scan every purchased item, bag merchandise efficiently, and process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases, including completing required background checks. Promote the Scheels Visa card, explain its benefits, and ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed during firearm and suppressor transactions. Assist with Gun Room housekeeping and execute technology-based processes for all sales. End each transaction by thanking the customer. This part-time role requires 15-20 hours weekly, with shifts ranging from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, including weekends. The base hourly wage is $17.00.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
- Must be able to complete firearm background checks
