Job Summary
Teach private and semi-private guitar lessons using the Bach to Rock curriculum, covering song arrangements while fostering an encouraging, focused atmosphere. Assess student readiness for band or ensemble participation and assist at school events. May repair equipment as needed. Demonstrate advanced music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument, communicating concepts effectively to students of all ages. Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities, managing time and organization to keep lessons on task. Requires an experienced performer and experience working with youth and beginning musicians. Pass a background check. Flexible part-time schedule available with hourly rates based on education, experience, and expertise. 401(k) match offered.
Required Qualifications
- Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
- Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument
- Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities
- Experienced performer (either solo or group)
- Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians
- Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
- Ability to pass a background check
