Job Summary
Provide cultural information through demonstrations and lectures, and teach songs, dances, crafts, games and cultural phrases to guests. Learn how to create, maintain and/or repair cultural artifacts, buildings, and props using a variety of equipment and materials. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the manager. On-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI; must be eligible to work in the U.S.; minimum 19 hours weekly; wage range $16-$18 per hour; BYU–Hawaii equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Must be in good health and have a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame
- Must be capable of moving freely among the guests and be capable of a full range of body movement
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Must know the basics of playing the ukulele
- Must look Polynesian
- Should be knowledgeable about the culture being represented
- Should be able to speak the language of the culture being represented
- Should be a high school graduate
- No prior work experience necessary
- Must attach resume and current semester's class schedule (weekly view format)
- All new hires must complete the Form I-9 to verify eligibility to work in the U.S.
