Job Summary
Conduct analysis, design, implementation, and test activities within the Guidance Systems team for system development and Internal Research & Development efforts in inertial guidance. Operate basic laboratory environments and equipment while delivering innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs. Lead and execute technical contributions with minimal supervision, supporting frequent communications across Integrated Product Teams. Advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology using scientific backgrounds in Guidance Navigation & Controls and MATLAB. Demonstrate passion for innovation by advancing GDMS technology and complying with all policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- U.S. Government security investigation eligibility
- Eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to perform work assignments under minimal supervision
- Ability to support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams
- Scientific background
- Understanding of Guidance Navigation & Controls
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with engineering systems
- Ability to further advance GDMS technology
- Passion for innovation
- Sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems
- Ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology
- Knowledge and understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Operations of basic laboratory environments and equipment
- Self-starter
- Ability to lead and execute with technical contributions
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership Experience (leading a team of 5+ engineers)
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- AI experience
- Circuit design and analysis
- FPGA design
- Closed loop control
- Simulation and modelling experience
- Experience with embedded programming (C, C++, Python, JavaScript) and microcontrollers
- Basic knowledge of inertial sensors
- Familiarity with Estimation theory, filtering, and data reduction
- Agile Method experience
- Familiarity with LabView
