Guidance Senior Advanced Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct analysis, design, implementation, and test activities for guidance systems within the Advanced Guidance Lab and Guidance Development Lab. Support ongoing Internal Research & Development in inertial guidance, including concept development, test equipment tools, and lab infrastructure. Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions while leading teams of five or more engineers under minimal supervision. Operate basic laboratory environments and equipment, utilizing MATLAB, Model Based Systems Engineering, and embedded programming to advance GDMS technology. Engage in programs and projects aligned with General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, ensuring services meet industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- U.S. Government security investigation eligibility
- Eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to perform work assignments under minimal supervision
- Ability to support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams
- Scientific background
- Understanding of Guidance Navigation & Controls
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with engineering systems
- Ability to further advance GDMS technology
- Passion for innovation
- Sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems
- Ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology
- Knowledge and understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Operations of basic laboratory environments and equipment

- Leadership Experience (leading a team of 5+ engineers)
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- AI experience
- Circuit design and analysis
- FPGA design
- Closed loop control
- Simulation and modelling experience
- Experience with embedded programming (C, C++, Python, JavaScript) and microcontrollers
- Basic knowledge of inertial sensors
- Familiarity with Estimation theory, filtering, and data reduction
- Agile Method experience
- Familiarity with LabView
