Guidance Advanced Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct analysis, design, implementation, and test activities for guidance systems within the Advanced Guidance Lab and Guidance Development Lab. Support ongoing Internal Research & Development (IRAD) in inertial guidance, including concepts, technologies, test equipment development, and lab infrastructure operations. Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions while performing work under minimal supervision and supporting communications across Integrated Product Teams. This role requires a scientific background in Guidance Navigation & Controls, proficiency with MATLAB and embedded programming (C, C++, Python), and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and AI. Candidates must demonstrate leadership experience leading small teams and possess knowledge of electronics, FPGA design, and estimation theory. The position supports General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, ensuring services align with industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- U.S. Government security investigation eligibility
- Eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to perform work assignments under minimal supervision
- Ability to support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams
- Scientific background
- Understanding of Guidance Navigation & Controls
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with engineering systems
- Ability to further advance GDMS technology

- Basic knowledge of inertial sensors
- Familiarity with Estimation theory, filtering, and data reduction
- Agile Method experience
- Familiarity with LabView
