Job Summary
Hand out and return skates, relace, and sharpen skates while serving as the Safety Ambassador on the ice during public skate sessions. Recognize and report dangerous conditions, discourage unsafe skating, and assist injured skaters. Encourage fun by controlling music and directing skaters, then help keep the facility and ice clean. Move equipment with Zamboni drivers and ensure skaters clear the ice during cuts. Optionally host birthday parties. This role supports the Kraken Community Iceplex, a 3-sheet community facility offering skating and hockey programming for all. Weekend shifts are required.
Required Qualifications
- Ice Skating proficiency
- Guest service experience
- Strong verbal communication skills to support customer experience and engagement
- A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first
- Must like interacting with children

- Weekend shifts (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) are required
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Weekends, nights, and holidays required
- Frequent bending
- lifting 15-20 pounds
- extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs
- Position available for individuals 16+
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with youth sports at the recreational and elite level
- Understanding of hockey and figure skating
- Understanding of event and on-ice programming
- Current Food Handler's Permit
