Job Summary
Conduct daily Service Counter operations by responding to guest inquiries, processing transactions, and resolving complaints in compliance with Hometown Grocers guidelines. Accurately maintain cash and media at registers while distributing tills and handling exchanges, refunds, and special services such as DMV and lottery sales. Provide information on offers and promotions to assist guests in purchasing decisions and record all comments and actions taken. Perform guest verifications, process orders and forms, and direct unresolved issues to appropriate resources. Ensure 100% quantity standards are met by 10 am and 5 pm while maintaining regular attendance and providing replacement notice for absences. Requires minimum 16 hours weekly including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum availability must include 16 hours a week with a minimum of 8 hours per day during available days
- Ability to process information/merchandise through register system
- Ability to communicate with associates and guests
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Knowledge of wide range of goods and services of Hometown Grocers
- Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
- Should have sound practical judgment of priorities
- Interest in helping and working with guests
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Walk in the store
- Bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods
- Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store
